We are pioneers, like YOU will be too. Yes, we truly are pioneers, developing new ways to combine ML and OR. We were the first to be surprised: no curriculum exists that routinely combines both fields.
We are looking for open-minded people. Open-minded as in “I’m able to understand that ML cannot solve all problems” and “yes, I’m ready to learn new approaches and combine them”.
Current positions
Interns
We welcome interns. In particular, we are seeking the following expertises and roles:
- Marketing
- Front-end developer
- Mathematical engineers
- Executive assistant
These are unpaid positions for the moment, but we can guarantee you two things:
- You will learn a lot. Really a lot.
- You will have fun at the same time.
PhD student
We are looking for a bright (and thus open-minded) PhD student. In particular, you should have solid background in at least two of the three following areas:
- Operations research
- Machine learning
- Computer science
We do provide a grant for several years to do this PhD at École Polytechnique de Montréal. The PhD can be done in French or English. The supervisors are Pr. Michel Gendreau and Dr. Nikolaj Van Omme (see our team).
The subject is about developing a new hybridization of ML and OR that could lead to real intelligence.
